Hi. I was just asking I’m auditioning for the role of Greg in the new “Diary Of A Wimpy Kid” and I’m feeling nervous and I’m forgetting my lines. Could you please give me some tips? Thanks, Albert

Hi Greg. You’re forgetting your lines because you studied lines. Every line is a separate thought. You need to marinate and talk around your dialogue to understand where that dialogue is for you from the Writer’s Perspective. Ask yourself, “What am I saying? What am I REALLY saying?” That is Guideline #7 from my “15 Guideline Map To Booking Technique.” You’re actually not busy enough – so you have a ton of time to spend on yourself – that is why you’re nervous. That time needs to be spent on the character and your character’s feelings. If you want to learn more go to: https://vimeo.com/ondemand/thelyndontechnique

Hi Amy I am TRANSWOMEN who is interested in open casting calls you might have for Transgenders. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Casting is casting is casting. Every show casts different types. It’s not just one a place for any one type. There’s not really open casting calls unless there’s a huge casting call for a Disney show or the diversity showcase. In any case, you would need to go about it like everyone else. Get your package and talent together and get a team of people to send you out on not only Transwomen roles, but also roles for all women in your age and ethnic category.

Hi Amy,
I’ve been doing extra work for almost 10 years in Chicago. Chicago has a ton of film work and I know a lot of people have gotten upgraded on set from extra to a speaking part. How can that happen to me?  I’ve been submitting to talent agents and casting directors as well. I do have to say Atlanta is booming in the film industry. Becky

Hi Becky. If they are upgraded then they were in the right place at the right time. The only upgrades I know of are usually on commercial sets. Being a stand in or a body double can get you a better opportunity for an upgrade. But I still say, you need to go through the proper channels. Make a decision to move into principal casting by getting the headshots, resume, demos, training and representatives to get you in front of casting for principal roles. If people aren’t responding to your submissions then your package needs some work in matching the quality of your talent.
